Permanent Makeup in Filey, Yorkshire
Natural Ombre Brows, Lip Blush & More
At Sarah Belle Cosmetic Tattooing, I help clients across Filey, Scarborough, Bridlington and the Yorkshire coast feel more confident with natural, long-lasting permanent makeup.
Permanent makeup (sometimes called semi-permanent makeup or cosmetic tattooing) uses specialist techniques to enhance your brows, lips or eyes. It’s perfect for saving time in your morning routine, adding definition, or restoring features that have become sparse or uneven.
Ombré Brows
Ombré (sometimes called powder brows) are one of my most requested styles. This technique creates a soft gradient, lighter at the front and gradually darker towards the tail. It looks polished but still natural, almost like a gentle brow tint that doesn’t wash off. Ombré brows usually need fewer touch-ups than microblading, so they’re easier to maintain and kinder to your skin.
Combination Brows
Combination brows mix delicate hairstrokes with subtle shading. They’re ideal if you like the look of natural hairs but also want more depth and shape. This style works well for clients with sparse brows who still want that fuller, slightly defined finish.
Full Lip Colour
Do you love the look of vibrant, uniformly coloured lips without the constant need to reapply lipstick? With full lip colour (often called lip blush or permanent lip colour), I help you get beautifully tinted lips that last—and that feel like you, just enhanced.
Why I Don’t Offer Microblading Anymore
I used to offer microblading, but over time I’ve found that it isn’t the best option for many clients. Because it uses a manual tool to cut fine strokes into the skin, it can fade quickly on oily or mature skin, and regular top-ups may cause unnecessary trauma or even scarring.
Machine methods are much more versatile, longer-lasting, and gentler on your skin. That’s why I now focus on machine-based techniques such as ombré, shading and combination brows.
What to Expect
When you book a treatment at my Filey studio, here’s how it usually works:
Consultation
We chat about the look you’d like, and I’ll design a shape that suits your features. A patch test is required before treatment.
Treatment Day
A numbing cream keeps things comfortable while I carefully apply the pigment with a digital machine.
Healing
The colour will look darker at first, then soften as your skin heals. I’ll give you full aftercare advice to make sure it settles beautifully.
Top-Ups
Most clients come back for a colour boost every 1-3 years to keep things looking fresh.
What Is Permanent Makeup?
Permanent makeup is a form of gentle tattooing that places pigment just under the skin. Unlike traditional tattoos, the pigment is designed to fade gradually over time. This means the look stays soft and natural, and can be refreshed or updated as your style changes.
- Treatments tailored to your face and lifestyle
- Modern machine techniques that are safer and longer-lasting than microblading
- A comfortable, welcoming studio in Filey with clients visiting from Scarborough, Bridlington and beyond
- Natural, flattering results designed to enhance your features, not overpower them
How long does permanent makeup last?
Most treatments last between 1 and 3 years, depending on your skin type, lifestyle and how well you look after them. A yearly top-up keeps the colour vibrant.
Does it hurt?
Most people say it feels like light scratching or buzzing. With numbing cream, it’s very manageable.
Will my brows or lips look too dark at first?
Yes, the pigment looks darker straight after treatment, but it fades as it heals. The final result is much softer and more natural.
Can I change the style in the future?
Absolutely. Because the pigment fades, you can update your look with a new shape or colour boost later on.
Is it safe?
Yes. I use sterile equipment and high-quality pigments. A patch test is always carried out before treatment.
