Microneedling Aftercare

Your skin may appear red, warm, tight or slightly swollen — similar to mild sunburn. This is normal.

First 24 hours

  • Do not touch the treated area unless hands are clean
  • Avoid makeup, SPF, retinol, acids or active skincare
  • Avoid exercise, sweating, saunas, steam rooms and swimming
  • Avoid alcohol
  • Avoid sun exposure completely for the first 24 hours
  • Do not pick, scratch or rub the skin
  • Use a fresh, clean pillowcase for your first night’s sleep after treatment
  • This helps prevent bacteria transferring onto the skin while the micro-channels are still open
  • Reduces the risk of irritation, breakouts or infection during early healing

24–72 hours

  • Cleanse with a gentle, fragrance-free cleanser
  • Use only soothing or hydrating products recommended by your practitioner
  • Apply SPF daily once advised (usually after 24 hours)
  • Continue to avoid heat, direct sun exposure and tanning
  • Avoid exfoliation and active ingredients

For 7 days

  • Avoid retinol, acids, vitamin C, exfoliants and facial treatments
  • Avoid sunbeds and prolonged direct sunlight
  • Continue gentle skincare and daily SPF
