Pre Procedure Advice
At the time of booking –
Please let me know if you are on any medication or suffering from any illness, skin condition or coldsores.
Please let me know if you have heavily tanned/burnt in the last month.
Please let me know if you are having any other treatments or have had any in the last three months (including but not limited to plasma fibroblast, dermaplaning, chemical peels, IPL/laser, waxing, electrolysis, microdermabrasion, microneedling, botox, fillers, etc).
5-7 days before treatment-
Avoid using strong “active ingredients” such as AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acids), BHA (Beta Hydroxy Acids), Retinol or low pH Vitamin C as these will irritate the skin.
Avoid harsh exfoliants.
Avoid strong sun exposure.
On the day of treatment-
Please come with no makeup on as left over makeup residue can be pushed into the skin.
Avoid caffeine and alcohol as these can both make you more sensitive.
Avoid chewing gum during treatment and you may be asked to limit talking at certain points – just relax and stay as still as possible.
Post Procedure Advice
Because the upper layers of dead skin have been sloughed away, the skin can be more sensitive to light. Your skin has been treated with a high SPF cream (sun protection) at the end of your session and you must wear this daily to protect your skin.
Continue to use SPF in your skin care routine – even on cloudy and overcast days to prevent pigmentation. SPF 30 minimum, SPF 50 is ideal. Make up products don’t provide effective SPF protection.
In the first 24 hours after treatment –
Limit touching the area.
Do not apply makeup or skincare products.
No swimming or exercise that would cause sweating.
In the first 72 hours after treatment –
After 24 hours use a gentle cleanser.
Do not use any harsh exfoliants.
Avoid sun exposure.
UV radiation damages the DNA of the cells and
can cause premature ageing, hyperpigmentation or even skin cancer.
In the first first 5-7 days after treatment-
No strong “active ingredients” such as AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acids), BHA (Beta Hydroxy Acids), Retinol or low pH Vitamin C as these will irritate the skin.
No sunbathing or sunbeds for at least 7 days.
