Treatment: Microneedling

What is it?

Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, is a cosmetic procedure for skin rejuvenation.

A pen-like tool is used with a disposable cartridge containing tiny needles to create controlled trauma to the skin which triggers a wound healing response in the skin, creating new collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid.

Microneedling is safe, effective, minimally invasive and has very little recovery time.

Who is it for?

Microneedling is great for anyone who is concerned about –

  • Fine lines
  • Aging skin
  • Acne scarring and pitting
  • Uneven skin
  • Pigmentation
  • Large pores
  • UV damage
  • Dull, tired looking skin

If you’re over the age of 21 microneedling can help you – from our mid-late 20s our bodies start producing less collagen, from our 30s we lose around 1% of our collagen per year! The skin becomes thinner, drier, and less elastic. The loss of collagen leads to wrinkle formation.

How often should I get microneedling?

You will notice your skin looking glowing after just one session, however microneedling is recommended every 4-6 weeks for lasting changes. Some clients get it monthly and some come several times a year depending on your lifestyle and budget.
